Heather Wilhelm

Heather M. Wilhelm, MSN, PMHNP-BC is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She received her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has 20 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and has experience working in inpatient units and in outpatient clinics. She is certified to treat child/adolescent, adult, and geriatric individuals. Heather has a special interest in treating severe and persistent mental illness, ADHD, developmental disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ population. She provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management with special attention to an individual’s needs, personal history, and life experiences or circumstances. She is also compassionate about an individual’s concerns about fears of medication and treatment. She approaches a patient with
honesty, patience, warmth, and understanding and will provide helpful explanations that facilitate treatment and trust. Heather also has a specific interest in functional medicine and continues to take classes on this topic.
Originally from Western Nebraska, Heather enjoys Husker and Broncos football and is actively involved in Omaha’s music and theater communities. She has two fur babies, Lucy and Stevie.
